How many of us look at the profile picture and don’t go any further. As easy as it is to say we don’t judge a book by it’s cover – the truth is we do, or advertising wouldn’t be the b’zillion dollar industy that it is. That doesn’t mean that putting up a profile picture that isn’t what you really look like is a good idea at all. If anything it wastes your time and the time of whoever is responding to your profile.

So what is the solution? OmniDate is trying to bridge that gap by creating avatars (profile pictures) that are based on what you look like. The added bonus is that you can dress them up or down depending on what you want to look like. With everything else on the web becoming so interactive it seems like a great direction to go in. It will be interesting to see how “real” this concept of online dating can become.
